Our Dubai International Airport guide includes airport contact details as well as information regarding transportation to and from the city, parking options and terminal facilities.

Airport news

A new concourse, Concourse D, is scheduled to open mid-2015, along with a new train station.

Information

Airport information desks are located at various points within the terminals. The DTCM Tourist Kiosk (Department of Tourism and Commerce) (tel: +971 4 201 0598; www.dubaitourism.ae) in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall provides tourist information, maps and tours – there is also a tourist information stand in Terminal 3.

Transfer between terminals

Transfers between terminals take 15 to 25 minutes using the airport shuttle service. It’s also possible to use the Metro to travel between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.

Terminal 1 (which serves most non-Emirates international flights) is connected to its departures area (Concourse C) via travelators. Terminal 2 is used primarily for charter flights, low-cost carriers, and some routes within the Gulf region, while Terminal 3 (and its Concourses A and B) is solely for Emirates and Qantas flights.

Driving directions

The Dubai-Al Ain Road runs directly southeast from Dubai city centre on the east side of The Creek (Al-Khor). This airport directly passes the airport and the turn off junction is clearly signposted. The driving time from the city centre to the airport is around 10 minutes.

Public Transport

Public transport rail

Metro:The Metro link (tel: +971 800 9090; www.rta.ae) runs frequently between the airport and Dubai city centre (although no service runs on Friday mornings). Stations are located in Terminals 1 and 3. The journey time to the city is between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the destination.

Public transport road

Bus:A bus service (tel: +971 800 9090; www.rta.ae) runs to the city centre from stations opposite Terminals 1 and 2. Buses C1, 11, 15, 33 and 44 depart from Terminal 1 (fare: AED2), while bus 2 operates from Terminal 2 (fare: AED2). It is also worth nothing that no change can be used on public buses; instead travellers will need to buy an electronic Nol card at the metro station or from the vending machines outside the terminal. In addition, Dubai International Airport Buses provide air-conditioned transport into the city centre and more than 80 hotels.

Taxi:Prepaid taxis can be booked 24 hours a day in the Terminal 1 Arrivals hall. The journey to the city takes 10 to 15 minutes.
