Passports
British nationals: A passport valid for the duration of stay is required.
Other nationals: A passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry is generally required.

Visas
British nationals: No visa is required for stays of up to 90 days.
EU nationals: Citizens of EU countries may enter The Gambia visa-free for stays of up to 90 days.
ECOWAS nationals: Citizens of ECOWAS member states may enter The Gambia without a visa in accordance with regional free-movement agreements.
US nationals: Visa requirements for US citizens are subject to change. Travellers should check with the nearest Gambian embassy or consulate before departure. A visa may be obtainable on arrival in certain circumstances.
Types and Cost
Single-entry tourist visas for The Gambia generally cost around US$100, though fees vary depending on nationality, visa type and where the application is made. Some nationalities may pay different reciprocal fees or administrative charges.
Transit, business and multiple-entry visas may also be available, with higher fees usually applying for longer validity or multiple entries. Travellers obtaining visas on arrival, where permitted, should be prepared to pay in cash.
Validity
Tourist visas are generally valid for stays of up to 90 days, though the permitted length of stay is determined by Gambian immigration authorities on arrival.
Application to
Visa applications should be made through the nearest Gambian embassy or consulate. In countries without Gambian diplomatic representation, some travellers may be able to obtain a visa on arrival at Banjul International Airport, subject to current immigration regulations.

Visa processing times vary depending on nationality and the embassy or consulate handling the application, but applications are generally processed within a few working days to two weeks. Travellers are advised to apply well in advance of departure.
