A visit to Durban any time of the year is a treat, but it has a sub-tropical climate, so summer (December to February) is pretty sultry with a high degree of humidity. Temperatures in summer average around 28°C (82°F), while winters are pleasantly warm, with average temperatures around 20°C (68°F). It is worth keeping in mind that school holidays are over December and January when holidaymakers arrive in their hordes.
