Driving directions:

It takes 10 to 15 minutes to drive from the centre of the city to Tunis Carthage International Airport, depending on traffic. From the city, follow the A1 until it intersects with the N8, which leads directly to the airport.

Transfer between terminals:

A shuttle bus links the terminals, departing every 10 minutes.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: Local SNT bus 35 runs to the city and Tunis Marine train station (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: around TND1).

Taxi: Yellow metered taxis are available at the taxi rank outside the terminal. Other unregulated taxis should be avoided as they often overcharge, and it’s also wise to ignore touts. The journey time to Tunis is about 20 minutes and the average fare to the city centre is around TND10 (there is an additional cost for luggage and this fare rises by 50% after 2100).

Terminal facilities

Money:

ATMs and 24-hour currency exchange kiosks are available in the arrival and departure areas. Please note: the Tunisian Dinar cannot be exchanged outside of Tunisia.

Food:

There are several snack bars at Tunis Carthage International Airport, serving international and local cuisine. A full-service restaurant is located in Departures.

Shopping:

Duty-free shopping is available in Arrivals and Departures. There are also shops selling luxury goods and local produce.

Luggage:

There is a lost and found counter near the general information desk. Left luggage is not available at the airport, but trolleys are provided.

Other:

Other facilities available at Tunis Carthage International Airport include a travel agency and hairdressers in Arrivals, as well as a small tourist office on the first floor of Departures. First aid facilities are also available on site.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

A VIP lounge is available in Departures. There are no business or conference facilities at Tunis Carthage International Airport, but there are meeting rooms at the nearby Tunis Grand Hotel (tel: +216 71 235 700; www.tunisgrandhotel.com).

Communication Facilities:

Public telephones are located in Arrivals and Departures. A post office can be found in Departures. Mobile phone hire is also available within the airport. Free Wi-Fi is available in some restaurants.

Disabled facilities:

Lifts, ramps and adapted toilets have been installed to assist disabled passengers at Tunis Carthage International Airport. Wheelchairs are available from the airline counters. Travellers requiring additional assistance should contact their airline before arriving at the airport.

Car parking:

A car park with 2,500 spaces is located just outside the main terminal, and there is space for an additional 500 vehicles outside Terminal 2.

Car rental:

Car hire companies at Tunis Carthage International Airport include: Avis, Budget, Hertz and Sixt. Each of these operators has a desk in Arrivals. Potential customers should note that driving conditions in Tunisia are poor, and caution is advised to those looking to privately hire vehicles.
