About Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ)
The international Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport serves the city of Bologna in Northern Italy. Our guide to the airport provides important contact details, as well as information regarding public transport routes, terminal facilities and nearby accommodation options.
There are two information desks located in the departures area of the Main Terminal. A telephone information service (tel: +39 051 647 9615) is also available from 0500 to midnight. In addition, there is a flight information board in Departures and numerous screens providing flight information throughout the airport.
Tourist information is available from a counter in the arrivals area of the Main Terminal; staff here can provide information on hotels, restaurants, events and city attractions.
From central Bologna, head north via the SS64 and turn left onto the A14, which skirts the north of the city. This road runs directly past the airport, take exit 4 and follow the signs to the terminal. The total drive time from Bologna is approximately 20 minutes.
Transfer between terminals:
The Main Terminal and East Terminal are linked by the BLQ Express shuttle train. Alternatively, there is a pathway between the two buildings, which takes eight minutes to walk. Passengers of certain airlines should check in at the East Terminal and then head to the Main Terminal for their departure.

Public transport road:
Bus: Aerobus (tel: +39 051 290 290; www.tper.it) operates the Linea BLQ service, which departs every 15 minutes from outside the arrivals area of the Main Terminal and runs to Bologna central railway station and the city centre (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: €6). Tickets can be bought on the bus.
There are also bus services to/from Modena Airport and Modena city centre (journey time: 60 minutes) and to/from Siena (journey time: 2 hours 30 minutes).
Taxi: Taxi providers Cotabo (tel: +39 051 372 727) and Cat Radiotaxi (+39 051 4590) operate from outside the arrivals area of the Main Terminal. The trip into the city takes 15 to 20 minutes and costs €20 to €25.
There is a full-service bank on the first floor of the airport, while ATMs and bureaux de change services are available throughout the Main Terminal.
A small selection of snack bars and cafés can be found in the Main Terminal. There is also a wine bar on the first floor and a self-serve restaurant on the second floor.
Various shops – including duty-free outlets, newsagents and tobacconists, shoe and clothes boutiques, a leather goods and accessories shop, and an establishment selling regional food items – are located in the Main Terminal.
Belongings lost or found within the terminal should be reported to security services (tel: +39 051 647 9664) on the first floor of the terminal. A left luggage service (tel: +39 051 647 9664) is also available at the airport.
Baby changing facilities are available in all ladies' toilets. There is a children's play area in the self-service restaurant area on the second floor of the Main Terminal, which features cartoon films and a special children's menu.
There is a wide range of facilities for disabled passengers, including disabled toilets, ramps and reserved parking spaces. Help telephones at various points within the Main Terminal can be used to request wheelchairs or airport operator assistance. Oxygen therapy apparatus, stretchers, and a specially-adapted waiting room are also available.
There are more than 5,000 parking spaces split between five car parks at the airport. There are separate car parks for short-term, medium-term and long-term parking. A valet service is also available on the ground level of P2.
Avis, Alamo, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and National are among the international car hire outfits present at the airport, along with several local operators. Offices are situated on the ground floor of the Main Terminal. Parking for hire cars is located in the P2 car park.
