About Istanbul Airport (IST)
Istanbul Airport is the primary international airport serving the Turkish capital. Our guide to the airport includes important contact details as well as information regarding terminal facilities, public transportation and local accommodation options.
On 6 April 2019, all commercial passenger flights were transferred from Istanbul Atatürk Airport – Istanbul’s former main commercial airport - to Istanbul Airport.
Information desks (tel: +90 212 444 1442) are located on each floor of the airport. Staff can provide information on airport facilities, hotels and tourist attractions in Istanbul.
From central Istanbul, take Divan Yolu Caddesi, Ordu Caddesi and Adnan Menderes Boulevard to Avrupa Otoyolu/O-3. Follow the O-3 highway, take the exit towards Atatürk Olimpiyat Parkı and merge onto the O-7. Continue along the O-7 then merge onto the O-6 road. Follow the signs for Istanbul Airport.

Public transport road:
Bus: Public buses run from the airport to central Istanbul. For further information, visit the IETT website (tel: +90 212 444 1871; www.iett.gov.tr/en). Journey time to the city centre is around 50 minutes. The Istanbul Airport website also has more information.
Shuttle: Havaist offers luxury transportation services on 20 different lines, 65 stations and 150 buses. The Havaist buses organises two-way bus services with 15-minute and 40-minute intervals.
Taxi: There is a 24/7 taxi service offered at Istanbul Airport. Three types of taxis are utilised for this service; black ‘E’ types, blue ‘D’ types and orange ‘C’ types. Passengers can access the taxi service at the main stations in the Plaza Section’s Domestic and International Arrivals areas, the Departures floor and the Other Arrivals floor. There are several banks with bureau de change facilities, as well as numerous ATMs in the domestic and international terminals on both the Arrivals Floor and the Departures Floor.
There is a wide variety of bars, snack bars, cafés, fast-food outlets and restaurants at Istanbul Airport.
24-hour shopping is available at Istanbul Airport, including the authentic Bazaar Area and duty-free shopping in the International Terminal.

Other facilities at Istanbul Atatürk International Airport include a prayer room, a children’s play room and a smoking area.

Business and conference facilities are available at the landside YOTEL Airport Hotel (tel: +90 212 942 6666; www.yotel.com).
Free Wi-Fi internet access is granted at lounges in the arrival and departure areas of the airport.
Istanbul Airport has lifts, numerous wheelchair-accessible toilets and reserved parking spaces. Disabled passengers requiring assistance with aircraft boarding are advised to contact their airline in advance. Wheelchairs are available at the airport, but passengers should make advance arrangements with their airline.
There is a 40,000-space car park at Istanbul Airport, including a 18,000-space multi-storey facility consisting of 5 blocks. A valet parking service is also available. Three Valet Car Receiving points at the CIP Lounge and the departures floor of the domestic and international terminals; there are two Valet Car Delivery points between the car park and the Plaza Venue.
International car hire companies represented at Istanbul Airport include: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar and Hertz, as well as a number of local operators. Counters are located in the Arrivals Floor.
