Rugby League World Cup 2013

The Rugby League World Cup 2013 kicks off on 26 October 26, 2013 and will be staged in four countries with matches played in England, Wales, Ireland and France. Leeds's Headingley Carnegie Stadium will host two matches; New Zealand V Papua New Guinea on 8 November and Quarter Final 1 on 15 November.

Leeds Loves Food

Leeds Food Festival puts the spotlight on the city and region's fabulous independent food and drink retailers - discover where to go for the best produce, where you can buy locally sourced ingredients and the best independent food and drink hotspots in the area. The festival ends with the Yorkshire Food and Drink Show held every year in Millennium Square, where suppliers come to showcase their wares and demonstrate their cooking.

Christkindelmarkt

This popular German Christmas market in Millennium Square is the perfect place to shop and soak up the festive atmosphere. It features traditional wooden stalls, festive greenery, Christmas carousel ride and twinkling colourful lights and attracts many hundreds of thousands of visitors to Leeds each year. Over 40 wooden chalet stalls set up business, from authentic German traders offering handcrafted toys, jewellery, Christmas cards and festive decorations, speciality foods and traditional German delicacies such as gluhwein, bratwurst sausages, goulash, soups, schnitzels, stollen, gingerbread and candied fruits.
