The new Terminal 3 partly opened in 2009 to cater for low-cost carriers, and is scheduled for full completion in 2020. Plans for a further terminal are also in place.
There are information desks in all terminals. There are also 24-hour tourist information desks (tel: (021) 550 5179 or 5307/8/9) in Terminal 2 (International Terminal).
A shuttle bus is available between the domestic and international terminals (Terminal 1 and 2 respectively).
Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is located at Cengkareng near Tangerang and is a 30-minute drive (longer in the rush hour) from Jakarta city centre, off the Soediyatmo toll road (Bandara exit).
Public Transport
Bus: The DAMRI shuttle bus route runs between Rawamangun, Blok M/Kebayoran, Gambir, Bekasi, Depok and Bogor (journey time: 1 hour).
Taxi: Taxis can be booked at counters in the arrivals areas of the terminals (journey time to city centre: 30-45 minutes).
Terminal facilities
Terminals 1 and 2 have banks, ATMs and bureau de change facilities.
Post offices, 24-hour telecommunications services (including fax and telex) and telephones are provided in both terminals; free local dialling is provided in the waiting lounges.
There are various food outlets in both terminals.
There are numerous shops in Terminals 1 and 3. In Terminal 2, there is duty-free shopping, a gift shop, newsagents and bookshop.
Left-luggage is located in Terminal 2 (Hall D), while lost property offices are situated in the arrivals areas of both terminals. A porter service is available.
First aid facilities are available from the administrative offices. Terminal 2 also has a baby care room and prayer rooms.
Airport facilities
Executive lounges are situated in the transit lounge, in the departures area of Terminal 2, as well as a number of airline lounges; a VIP lounge is situated in the departures area of Terminal 1. Several meeting rooms are available for hire at the nearby Sheraton Bandara (tel: (021) 559 7777; www.starwoodhotels.com).
There are two lifts in Departures and two in Arrivals. Wheelchair transportation can also be provided between the aeroplane and the terminals; passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
There are car parks outside all three terminals, with long-stay parking available at Terminals 2 and 3.
Car hire companies at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport include: Avis, Bluebird and Europcar. Car hire desks can be found in Arrivals.
Airport hotels
The Jakarta Airport Hotel is a 3-star transit hotel at Terminal 2. Facilities include a restaurant, bar and meeting room.
Sheraton Bandara is located close to Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and provides a 24-hour free shuttle service to/from the airport. The hotel is next to an 18-hole golf course and has its own spa and fitness centre.
