Weather in Istanbul

Istanbul is a year-round destination. However, the winter months (December to February) can be very cold, with sub-zero temperatures as well as rain and snow. July and August are often hot and humid. Weather-wise, the best times to visit are April and May, and September and October. Turkey is a secular country, but the Muslim holy month of Ramadan is widely observed, and many smaller establishments tend to close during the day, while sales of alcohol restricted.
