Antarctica Visa and Passport Requirements
Since no country owns Antarctica, no visa is required. However, the countries that signed the Antarctic Treaty's Protocol on Environment Protection require that visitors from those countries (including the USA, Canada, EU and Australia) need permission. This is nearly always through tour operators.
Nationals from the UK, USA, Canada, EU and Australia wishing to visit Antarctica require special authorisation. In general, those travelling to Antarctica with a tour operator (which holds proper permits or authorisations from the operator's respective Antarctic Treaty Party) do not require anything other than a valid passport.
