Cape Verde: visa and passport requirements

Passports: 

A passport valid for at least six months is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Visas: 

Visas are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above, except those continuing their journey to a third destination - providing they hold onward documentation and do not leave the airport.

Note: Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.

Types and cost: 

Single-entry visa: £72; multiple entry visa: £120.

Those applying for an entry visa to Cape Verde with less than 21 working days until they plan to travel will require either a High Priority single-entry visa £132; of a High Priority multiple-entry visa: £180.

Validity: 

Single-entry visas are valid for six months from the date of issue, and last for 30 days; an extended stay of 90 days can be arranged. 

Multiple-entry visas are valid for one year from the day of issue, and the holder may travel in and out of Cape Verde as many times as they like, as long as each stay is no longer than 90 days.

Those wishing to stay in Cape Verde for longer than 90 days must contact the immigration service two weeks before the 90 days are up.

Standard visas take up to 21 working days to issue; High Priority visas take between seven and 10 working days.
