To enter Eritrea, a passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond intended departure date is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.
Visas for Eritrea are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above, except transit passengers continuing their journey to a third country within six hours - providing they hold valid onward/return documentation, and do not leave the airport transit lounge.
Foreign nationals (including resident diplomats) are required to have a travel permit to visit areas outside Asmara; visitors intending to travel outside Asmara should be aware that these restrictions may severely hamper their plans.
Note: Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements for Eritrea.
Tourist visa: £25-£35 (one-month, single-entry); business visa: £35-£40 (one-month, single-entry); £50 (three-month, multiple-entry); £75-£90 (six-month multiple-entry); £125-£150 (one-year multiple-entry).
