Passports

To enter Jamaica, a passport valid for at least six months is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Visas

Visas for Jamaica are not required by nationals referred to in the chart above except:

1. Nationals of Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovenia who are required to obtain a visa on arrival in Jamaica.

Nationals of Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Malta, the UK and the USA can stay in Jamaica visa-free for up to six months.

Nationals from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Sweden can visit Jamaica visa-free for stays of up to 90 days.

Nationals from the Czech Republic, France, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain can visit Jamaica visa-free for stays of up to 30 days.

Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements for Jamaica.

Types and cost

Visa issued at port of entry: US$20; visa obtained in advance from embassy/high commission: £25.

Working days

Visitors applying for visas in advance from the embassy/high commission should allow three days for processing. If the application has to be referred to Jamaica for approval, it may take two to three weeks.

Sufficient funds

Visa applicants must be able to show proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay in Jamaica.

Extension of stay

Commonwealth citizens may be able to extend their stay to 12 months.

Entry with pets

Only animals born in the UK or Ireland may be brought into Jamaica. You must obtain an import permit from the Veterinary Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (www.moa.gov.jm).
