Lesotho: visa and passport requirements

Passports: 

To enter Lesotho, a passport valid for at least six months following departure, and with at least two blank pages, is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

Passport note: 

Visitors travelling via South Africa will need to comply with South African passport and visa regulations.

Visas: 

(a) nationals from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland can stay visa-free in Lesotho for up to 14 days;

(b) nationals from the UK and USA do not require a visa for Lesotho;

(c) Nationals of Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia (1) do need a visa to enter Lesotho.

Types and cost: 

Tourist (Single-entry): £50; Business: £50 (Single-entry).

Validity: 

Single-entry: up to three months.

Generally three working days.

Entry with children: 

Some countries require documentary evidence of parental responsibility before allowing single parents to enter the country or, in some cases, before permitting the children to leave the country.
